OUR KINETIC STORY
Five years ago I purchased a CitiCoco 2kW ("fat" tyres) Best Electric Scooter with Seat, and back then had no idea where this hobby could lead me (a Sales Engineer) to.
About three years ago, EVa2x2 4kW (prototype I) dual motor eScooter was born in my garage in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand.
And a year after I added one more (third) motor wheel at the back for stability, better control and even more power (6kW in total) and called her EVa3x3 AWD (prototype II) All Wheel Drive eTrike..

After all, what was really shocking for me to notice that she had not only become much more stable (AWD) driving off-road but also the distance I could drive on a single charge was significantly increased. Because if just the front motor wheel turned "on" (driver) and back two turned "off" (driven, act like usual car alternators) or vice versa, EVa3x3 is able to charge itself when driving and turned to be using KINETIC energy for that ... wow ... that's a game changer!
Please note, the test below eliminates the benefit of using KINETIC energy but allows to estimate the in-coming current vs out-going ... So, on road tests are also being performed and their findings will be posted here shortly ...
What is already curtain, the driven motor/s is/are simply re-recharging the batteries when driving like your normal alternators. EVa3x3 AWD 6kW is able to charge itself which simply increases the total distance it can travel on a single external charge ....
NZ Road Registration of 6kW AWD eTrike (Motorcycle) is another story ...
In fact, I have decided for now to contract manufacture EVa3x2 SCM (not 3x3 AWD 6kW) Dual Motor (4kW) plus front motor wheel / alternator (2kW) and NZ road registered her as a Moped (limited to 45km/h).

In fact, I am proud that EVa3x2 SCM (road registered moped) is a New Zealand Designed Light EV (eTrike-Moped) under the IP Authority and exclusively contract manufactured (with COC, ECM) in PRC. This is a first eTrike in the world using KINETIC energy to recharge in order to extend its travel distance by TBA km (subject to finishing a final independent review / report to be supplied here asap)
EVa Limited is formally the manufacturer/importer of this eTrike into New Zealand market and provides local sales, customer support, service, warranty, and can arrange repairs if required from Penrose, Auckland.
